Here I am making available my settings for Tekla Structures as I have created it after years of work (since 2012) in this program. I assume that it will be still evolving in the future and I will be glad for your comments and suggestions.

Prefixs assemblies:
  • PA,PB,PC, ... platforms
  • C... columns
  • R ... railings
  • S ... staircases
  • L ... ladders
  • MP ... mounting pads
  • R ... roof
  • W ... walls
  • B ... bracing
  • G ... gratings
  • TS ... trapezoidal sheets
  • FP ... floor plates
Numbering and prefixs the parts:
  • 1001 ... current items
  • R1001 ... railings
  • G1001 ... gratings
  • F1001 ... floor plates
  • T1001 ... trapezoidal sheets
  • X1001 ... existing steel structure
  • I1001 ... invisible steel structures
  • C1001 ... concrete structures
Materials (examples of some of the materials I use):
  • S235JR
  • S355J2
  • EXISTING_STEEL ... already existing structures
  • INVISIBLE_STEEL ... invisible structures (without weight)
  • C25/30 ... concrete, always beginning with the letter C
  • 8.8 ... e.g. for threaded rods
  • A2-70 ... stainless steel
  • S235JR(GALV) ... if I just want some part galvanized
  • S235JR,Z15 ... if I need steel with some kind of certificate, here for example Z15
  • SP330-34/38-3 steel grating with support belt 30x3, spacing of load-bearing belts 34mm, spacing of spreader bars 38mm, edging strip 30x3mm
  • XSP330-34/38-3(11) steel grating with anti-slip design number 11
  • I don't distinguish the material for S355J2H hollow sections, because when I was doing it, I sometimes forget it for rolled sections and it gets confusing. I'd rather solve it with a note above the stamp.
Paintings (finish):
  • WP ... without painting
  • P1 ... painting of steel number 1, P2, P3, etc.
  • GALV ... galvanized
Floor plates:
  • patterned steel (EN10363:2016 - three types of plates) - see e.g. ArcelorMittal
  • Surface design T / tear pattern T (the "German tear")
  • Surface design R / diamond pattern R
  • Surface design A / tear pattern A (the "American tear")
Marking of floor sheets in Tekla Structures:
  • PST ... patterned steel design T
  • PSR ... patterned steel design R
  • PSA ... patterned steel design A
Marking of plate and flate steel:
  • PL ... plate
  • FL ... flate steel
Numbering of contracts:
  • 2301,2302,2303,etc ... it is a good idea to start with the year, in this case the year 2023, job no.01,02,03 (for the sake of sorting folders in the directory
